Like most first time mums I struggled to feel like me after my two c-sections. YUNG BOD aka YB is an Australian owned and operated beauty brand specialising in pregnancy, post-partum and beyond, founded by dermal scientist Kristy Young. Our main focus is to create mindful, premium products to help mamas navigate their birthing journey. Our evidence based debut skincare is supportive as your skin adjusts and aimed for mamas who want to gain back control of their body. We are cruelty-free, naturally-derived, pregnancy and breast-feeding safe. We keep it real, because being a mum isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. After both of her c-section births, Kristy noticed she didn’t receive much scar aftercare advice. But as the skincare expert she is (and she has a Bachelor's degree in Science to prove it), she knew that dealing with it sooner rather than later would offer the best chance of reducing her scar’s appearance and the other delights that come with a c-section.
The idea for YUNG BOD’s debut product, C-SECTION MAMA CREAM, came to Kristy while she cleared out her freezer to make way for breastmilk. Donating her body to the cause, Kristy decided to create a skin cream with carefully selected ingredients that she was happy to use on her own pregnant and breastfeeding body.
Like pretty much every mum, Kristy has felt judged by other people at times. She is dedicated to changing attitudes around pregnancy, birth, and motherhood – and that all starts by talking about it. From fertility and postpartum depression, to bottle feeding and c -sections, YUNG BOD is an open, honest community where nothing is taboo.
